This article will go over how to order a background check for any account.
If your account has access to send out the Online Consent Form, please see this article for the steps
Forms
You will need to collect the applicant's consent and information before you are able to order a background check
If you do not already have a consent form on file to have the applicant fill out, we have paper forms available inside of your account.
- When you first log into the account, you will be take to our Announcement Page
- Scroll down all the way to the bottom of the page to "Forms and Documents"
- The first document that you'll need is the "Background Investigation - Notice", this will be where the applicants give their consent to have the background check ordered on them
- The second document that you'll need is the "Applicant Data Collection Form", this will be where the applicants will give the required information needed to order
Applicant Detail Page
Once you have the consent form and the applicant's information, you are able to order the background check inside your account
- Click on the New Order option under the Background Checks tab to the left side of the menu
- Enter in the applicant's information
- Everything with a red star is required information
- Click on the Continue button
Order Screen
- Billing Ref - If you have Billing References set up, you are able to choose which Reference to assign to this applicant
- Package - Types of background checks that you are able to order
- A La Carte - A La Carte is an option listed under Package. With the A La Carte, you are able to select any individual services under this menu
- Search AKA (Maiden Name) - If your applicant has an additional name and you are ordering the Plus package, the only way for the county or state court to look for any records under that additional name is if you have this checked off
- This AKA search is $10.50 for any additional names, plus any mandatory county or state fees if any
Order Training
Only available for Bundle 1 and higher
- Under the packages, there will be an option to send out the Child Safety Training link to the applicant
Criminal Search (County or Statewide)
If you are ordering the Plus package or a search that includes a county or statewide search, the next page will allow you to choose the Statewide search or the County search
- When you have selected the Statewide or the County option, you will be able to choose the State or County and State to search in
- If an address was entered in, the State and County fields will automatically be filled out with their current address
- You are still able to change the State and County fields if needed
- If an address was entered in, the State and County fields will automatically be filled out with their current address
- If another County or State search is needed, click on the green Add button in the upper right
- Note: Any additional County or Statewide search will be an additional cost
- When you have the County or State selected, you will need to click on the Next button
Summary Page
The last page will be the Summary Page to review your order
- Make sure to click on the checkbox next to "Click here to certify that you have secured authorization and will adhere to these legal requirements"
- This is confirming that you have the applicant's consent form
- When the report is ordered, you will get a success page
